Wow.. Watching the inauguration, the overriding thing that gets me is just how many happy people there are there, celebrating.. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen anything quite like that… Tweet
I’m just out on a drive with my mother, and as we go down these country roads, the trees and hedges have frost on them in such a way that it looks like blossom, often on plants that have no business blossoming.. So very pretty :o) Tweet
I will admit, part of the reason why I love London quite so much is because of childhood experiences of watching Mary Poppins. When Bert refers to the rooftops as “a trackless jungle just waiting to be explored”, the shot that follows was one of the most beautiful things I ever saw as a kid.. [...]
.. and there it is. We’re only a couple of days into January, and already I’m pining after the summer.. How absolutely typical… Just watching Time Team, and it’s very obviously the summertime, and everyone is wearing short sleeves, and sitting around in the sunshine.. If I had the equipment and the time, I would now be posting a picture of frost-covered sheep in a frost-covered field, against a backdrop of the most perfect winter sunrise. As it goes, looks like I have to just keep it to myself.. :o) Tweet
It is an outstandingly beautiful day outside.. Powder blue skies, no clouds, gorgeous yellow sunlight.. Time, I think, for a walk :o) And then later, I ought to write about this week… It’s been good :o) Tweet
There is something so gloriously pretentious about sitting in a cafe, working on a laptop, with a huge mug of hot chocolate.. There’s no way they could know for sure that I wasn’t working on a novel or something equally artsy.. Nobody need know the sad truth :o) Tweet
I just saw what I can only describe as a “flock” of Red Kites. They’re not really flocking birds as such, in my experience they just coincide with one another geographically based on where the food is, rather than out of any specific social behaviour.. Anyway, point is, there were 21 of them, all together. [...]
